Apples fight cholesterol

The latest secret cholesterol fighter is “an apple (or two) a day.” Women in a study at Florida State University who ate 1/3 cup of dried apples daily for a year saw a 23 percent drop in “bad” cholesterol and a slight increase (4 percent) in “good” HDL cholesterol – and the women in the study did not gain any weight.
