The cranberry is the fruit of a shrub (Oxycoccos) grown in bogs in the cooler parts of the Northern Hemisphere. Cranberry juice traditionally has been used to prevent and treat urinary tract infections. It is thought to help prevent bacteria from adhering to the walls of the urinary tract. Cranberry juice also may have antioxidant and anti-cancer properties.
