Lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis) is a flowering plant also known as Jerusalem Cowslip, Jerusalem Sage, Lung Moss, Lungs of Oak, and Spotted Comfrey. The herb gets its name from the spotted leaves, which resemble the surface of a lung. Lungwort is available as a tablet or an extract. It traditionally has been used as an herbal treatment for lung ailments including bronchitis, cough, hoarseness, and tuberculosis. Lungwort also has been used as a treatment for diarrhea, digestive tract bleeding, excessive menstruation, flu, hemorrhoids, and wounds.
