Krill oil beats other fish oils in lowering lipids

Rats fed a diet that included krill oil for six weeks decreased their cholesterol levels by an average of 33 percent, while those whose diet included another type of fish oil showed cholesterol level drops averaging 21 percent. Results of the study also suggest that krill oil may help regulate fat metabolism enzymes, which could be useful in protecting the body from obesity.
