Boldo comes from the leaves and bark of the boldo tree, a small evergreen native to Chile and Peru that is among the most popular medicinal plants in Chile. Boldo has been naturalized to the Mediterranean region. Boldine, the part of the herb used medicinally, also is found in more than a dozen other trees or shrubs in the laurel, magnolia, and monimia families.
