Quince is a popular ornamental plant that is grown all over the world. The fruit and seeds of some quince varieties are used for medicinal products, while other varieties have no role in herbal therapy. Quince is available as a fruit syrup, decoctum cydoniae, and as a mucilage of quince seeds. Quince is sometimes recommended as an herbal treatment for canker sores, diarrhea, dysentery, gonorrhea, gum problems, sore throat, and thrush.
