Chinese herbal medicine in history

Chinese herbal medicine has been in use in China since at least 200 BCE; by the first century, Chinese herbal medicine was well-established and formulations were being tested and recorded.

Li Shi-Zhen wrote a classic in Chinese herbal medicine literature that was used widely during the Ming Dynasty (1152 to 1578) and included information about the benefits and uses of 2,000 herbs and plant extracts.
