Turmeric is a perennial from the ginger family and is harvested commercially in India, China, Indonesia, and other tropical countries. It is available as capsules, powdered spice, dried rhizome, extract, oil, or tincture. Turmeric has a long and varied history in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian (Ayurvedic) Medicine.
