Headaches that come from thirst

The glass of water you use to wash down your Advil may be as effective as the medication in relieving your headache, although the medication is probably faster.

Many people do not get enough water on a daily basis. Some people don’t like the taste of water and will only drink beverages that contain sugar or caffeine—both ingredients that pull water from the body instead of hydrating it. Others wait until they feel extremely thirsty to drink water. By that time, a dehydration headache may have set in.
