What killed Mozart? Maybe strep

The sudden death of musical genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was not a result of poisoning or bad pork but may have instead been caused by a streptococcal infection, a new study suggests.

The study which was published in The Annals of Internal Medicine on Tuesday threw a light on the mystery of the famous composer’s death on Dec. 5, 1791 by suggesting that it may have been the result of kidney failure, a complication brought about by strep throat.
